Visit

Non-members wishing to visit the club (located just 3 miles north of Liverpool city centre, not far from the ‘Mons’ pub near Breeze Hill/Queen’s Drive flyover) are welcome to attend, either as the guest of a member, or alternatively by leaving a relevant explanatory note, along with their name, phone number and e-mail address on the contact page, so that they can be provided with suitable information about the location of the clubrooms, public transport nearby and/or make any other arrangements, as required. (Those coming as part of a pre-arranged group (e.g. MERG, Lupts etc.) need not bother with this as the information will be provided via the group’s visit organiser.)

(Sadly, burglaries of model railway clubs and private layouts do occasionally happen all around the UK, so we prefer not to publish our precise location – but we are happy to supply location details to those who make prior contact.)

A small donation from non-member visitors (into the donations plate by the signing-in book) would be most welcome. (Suggested amount equal to at least the monthly sub. of a reduced rate member.  See the join us page for current rates.)

Drivers find us a touch over 5 minutes from the ends of the M57/M58 at their interchange with the A5758/A59/A5036 (known locally as ‘switch island’), or not far from the junction of the East Lancs. Road (A580) and the Queen’s Drive ring road (A5080) – by dual carriageway almost to the door in both cases. Those coming through the tunnel from the Wirral peninsula will find us about 6-minutes away too. Free parking is available in the grounds – and on the surrounding roads, if full.

For public transport, we are within a couple of hundred yards of various bus stops on multiple bus routes from Liverpool, Bootle and Southport, as well as a short walk (or, if you prefer, a 3-minute bus ride) from each of 3 railway stations (Walton, Rice Lane and Bootle New Strand) covering the Ormskirk, Kirkby (Headbolt Lane) and Southport to city centre/Hunts Cross lines, respectively, of Merseyrail’s northern lines division.

Children (<16) and ‘vulnerable adults’ are welcome to visit but must remain in the presence of their parent / guardian / carer, for the purposes of ‘safeguarding’. Teenagers below full adult status (16-17) should be able to provide evidence that their parent / guardian / carer has given permission for them to visit, if unaccompanied.
