An estimated 40+ visitors attended the first open day at LAWLOGG in Bootle.
This was the club’s first open day for 20 years, following the loss of its original 1956 clubrooms in Crosby, for redevelopment, in the early 2000s and a few years of peripatetic accommodation, before settling into its current location during the 2010s.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, with many favourable comments received. Many had brought O-gauge stock with them, which saw service on the various layouts, with owners taking the controls.
Our next general open day should be on Saturday 17th May 2025. (See the visit page for more details.)
Visitors are welcome to come and join us on our normal club evenings but we ask that they alert us to their intention beforehand using the contact form.
Below are some pictures of the event, which also featured demonstrations and displays, including painting and lining rolling stock, electronic & computer control from the recently-formed Merseyside Area Group of MERG (The Model Electronic Railway Group) and Merseyside Live Steam & Model Engineers.
One of our members is “North West Trains” who has also posted pictures on his Facebook account and a video of the proceedings on his YouTube account.
